Sarnia-Lambton to be recognized worldwide as a hybrid, green community.

The purpose of the Bluewater Sustainability Initiative is to enable integration of key stakeholder groups in the identification and execution of sustainability initiatives in Sarnia – Lambton.

The Bluewater Sustainability Initiative will:

1. provide a forum for members/participants to identify and exchange ideas for sustainable development;
2. act as a clearing house for new ideas related to sustainable development, with a key focus on identifying people resources and funding strategies;
3. maintain continuity of sustainability initiatives, by tracking, monitoring and reporting against key activities;
4. facilitate connection of new initiatives to the appropriate existing organization(s), or directly manage ad hoc teams, as required;
5. serve as a common voice for communication of successes, both within and external to the community;
6. connect with external resources, as required, to support agreed initiatives;
7. seek out learnings and best practices from other locations;
8. expand the overall knowledge, understanding and support for sustainable development concepts and objectives across all stakeholder groups in the community including academia, industry, commerce, municipalities and the general public of the Sarnia Lambton are including our agricultural partners.
